The Week Of Asking Box Stores: Letter to Home Depot, idiotic response from IHOP

I wrote to Home Depot today to ask them for a gift certificate. But the bigger news today is my back-and-forth with IHOP.

As you may recall, I wrote to IHOP recently telling them that my boyfriend and I "loved the commercials for the Rooty-Tooty Fresh 'n' Fruity and decided we had to visit the relatively new one on Bond Street in Brooklyn."

I went on to tell them how great their service was, and that we would like it if they had more funny food names.

Today, a woman named Teara Pendleton wrote me back. This is what she said:

Dear Guest:

Thank you for taking the time to contact IHOP regarding your recent visit to one of our restaurants. However, we have several locations. You did not mention which particular IHOP you had visited.

Please provide me with a city and/or a location address of the IHOP you visited so that the matter can be shared with the proper individuals to address your concerns.

Of course, I DID tell her the location in my original letter, and oddly, the original letter was actually attached to the response letter she sent me.

I wrote her back immediately, and tried not to talk to her like she was an idiot:

Dear Ms. Pendleton:

Thank you for your quick response to my compliments.

As for the city and location of the IHOP I visited, as I stated in my letter, it was the one on Bond Street in Brooklyn.

To clarify, this IHOP is on the corner of Livingston and Bond Street in Brooklyn, New York. The exact address is: 276 Livingston Street, Brooklyn, New York‎.

It is the only IHOP within a three mile radius of my home address, and one of only two IHOPs in Brooklyn, New York.

Also, it is a few doors down from a really terrific Goodwill Industries store.

Again, great experience. Friendly staff. Huge mountains of food on every plate.

Only suggestion is to please try and come up with more funny food names like Rooty-Tooty Fresh 'n' Fruity.
